Message from the Headteacher
Feels like summer is finally approaching – it is a pleasure to see the children enjoying the outdoors in the sunshine. According to the forecast this weather is likely to continue, so please may I request parents not to over dress their children. Our uniform policy provides the option of pinafore dresses and shorts, which are probably more conducive to warmer days.
The summer fair is coming around and as always, we are requesting donations from our families so we can make this fair fun and entertaining for our pupils. I do sincerely hope that unlike last year, the weather will hold and it will be a lovely social afternoon. I will be forming a committee of staff and parents so we can share ideas and work together to make this event a success. We will be having stalls for a variety of food, tea, coffee, cake, a range of games for the children to take part in, bbq and picnic area and of course toy stalls.
There were two enterprises this week – Y1 Plant Sale and Y4 Egyptian Mask Auction. Thank you to parents for coming and contributing and supporting your child.
Earlier this week, a couple of staff and I attended the funeral of our art teacher, Gus Henry. It was quite emotional and heart-warming to hear his friends and family speak about him from their different perspectives. Later on at the wake we were joined by other staff and we all took this opportunity to pay our respects to the family. Gus will always be remembered fondly by us all at Vicar’s Green Primary School.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
