I would like to start with a special mention for our Year 1 and Year 4 pupils who have just completed the statutory phonics and multiplication assessments respectively. The children were calm, and approached the assessments with confidence and resilience. I would also like to thank all the adults who worked throughout the year to prepare them.
We have two year group enterprise events next week, and I am hoping to see lots of our parents here at school to support their child and spend a bit of time interacting with fellow parents. Year 1 has been busy decorating their plants as an extension on the science topic on ‘Growing’ and Year 4 are making masks, which are inspired by ancient Egypt art architecture. The purpose behind these events is to make children understand the concept of profit and loss, and giving them some experience of handling money as well as planning and promoting an event.
Three of our teachers took part in a triathlon competition last weekend - Ms Lewis was our swimmer, Mrs Hughes was our runner and Mr Torres was the cyclist. Below I have shared a picture of them proudly showing off their medals. And a special mention to Ms Waters, Mr Rasiah and Mr Bradley for turning up very early in the morning to support their colleagues.
