Why did you decide to become a Governor at Vicar’s Green Primary School?

I want to bring my work-based experience in a new setting in my local community, where the results of our collective endeavours can be visibly seen.

What do you think that Governors can bring to Vicar’s Green Primary School?

I think as a Governing Board we are at our best when working with the teachers and wider team to get the best outcomes for our pupils. I see my role as a supportive – and sometimes challenging – friend, making sure the school continues to improve for the community we serve.

What are your interests in Education (SEN, Business, Literacy...)

I believe building an inclusive and fair school can help ensure our pupils are best equipped to respond to the challenges of both today’s society as well as the future. I want to help make sure the school is serving the community as best it can.

Brief history of your career, life and background

I’ve lived in the Borough of Ealing for nearly three years, having been in nearby Hillingdon before that. I’ve been a Civil Servant in Whitehall for over a decade, working closely with Ministers and covering a wide range of policy areas. I bring with me a good working understanding of the core components of organisational governance and risk management. Having previously lived with a teacher, I have also gained a good insight into the personal and professional challenges of teaching as well as the ultimate rewards in seeing classes progress. I therefore hope to bring to the Governing Board a strategic understanding of national policy objectives as seen through their real-world impacts.
