Governors
The role of school governors and trustees
Welcome to the Vicar's Green Governing Body.
The role of the Governing body is to help shape the strategic direction of Vicar's Green and to safeguard the public interest in these schools. As our role is strategic, we do not get involved in the day to day running of the school - we ensure that it is accountable for decisions and actions taken. We oversee the maintaining of and improvement of standards of achievement within our school. We are also responsible for ensuring that the schools' policies and administration meet statutory requirements and that our children are able to maximise the educational opportunities provided. We support the school in it’s continuous drive to improve the already high standard of education provided to our children. We are the critical friend of the school.
Please find below a list of who is on our current governing body.
Our Governing Body re-constituted in July 2021, voting to have up to 12 governors in total, all of our current governors are listed below. Please view the documents below to see more detailed information about the specific roles and responsibilities and their business interest declarations.
The main role of a governor is to ensure that all the children at Vicar's Green Primary School receive a high quality education and support the school in its various functions, acting in a supportive way as well as being a critical friend to the school.
