Yesterday, we took part in the European Day of Languages across school. It was a wonderful celebration of the different languages that are spoken across the continent, but also the variety of languages that we speak here at Vicar’s Green, over 40! The children took part in a range of activities, where they learnt information about a country and its language, and got to learn some words and phrases too. Some of our teachers taught their children their own home language, where others enjoyed learning words from a new language with their class. We ended the day with an assembly to showcase the work the children had been working on in class. Some of our children stood up in front of their peers and taught them words and phrases from their native language. It was a great day highlighting how diverse our school is and how important languages are when communicating with others. A big thank you to Mrs Shah for organising such a fun day of languages.
Moving forward, if your child is not in the correct uniform, they will be given a slip by their Class Teacher. This will indicate exactly which item they were wearing was not in accordance with the school uniform policy, and please may I request you to rectify this as soon as possible. As parents it is your responsibility to make sure your children are in the correct school uniform and this is in the Home-School Agreement that you signed. School uniforms promote inclusivity, discipline, and professionalism while instilling a sense of pride and unity within the school community.
Finally, it is cold and flu season is on its way and to keep your child healthy, please make sure they are up to date with their immunisations and vaccinations.
