Message from the Headteacher
It is the time of the year when all the high school open days are taking place. I do hope our Year 6 parents are making the most of this opportunity and visiting the schools with their children. When choosing schools, please think about proximity from your residential address, as this is one of the main criteria for place allocation. Also, make sure you complete all six options in order of preference, so if your child does not secure the first choice there is plenty to choose from. Below we have provided the details of last year’s top four feeder schools.
As winter approaches, we need to make sure that we are providing the children with a balanced diet throughout the day, which will source their growing bodies with nutrients, vitamins and minerals. A nutritious diet is essential to give them the energy they need, and to strengthen their immune system, so they can ward off infections. Below we have included an image of a food pyramid, which clarifies how much of each food group needs to be in your diet. So, when planning your meals, please pay attention to how this pyramid is being represented on the plate.
To mark the Harvest Festival, school councillors are asking for contributions of various food items, which they will take to the food bank, so those less fortunate than us have food this winter.
Finally, parents are not allowed to enter the school building once they have picked their children up from their class or teacher. All parents must be escorted through the building with a member of school staff, as this is for safeguarding purposes for our children and staff.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
