Message from the Headteacher
Yesterday I watched the Remembrance Assembly by Year 6 Wren and they reminded us all, about the sacrifices and hardships of the armed forces all over the world in order to defend our rights, privileges and freedoms. They beautifully recited the poem "The Unknown Soldier" by Billy Rose a poignant lament on the plight of veterans after World War I. Through the voice of an unknown soldier, the poem critiques the inadequate support provided to ex-servicemen and questions the value of their sacrifices. It also highlights the profound emotional toll war takes on families and communities. We have been selling poppies and other items throughout the week to raise money for the war veterans, and I would like to add that the entire school community has been extremely generous.
Here at school, on 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we will be joining millions around the world to pause in silence and remember the sacrifices many have made so we can enjoy life today.
The Maths Morning, which was scheduled to take place next Thursday 14th November 2024, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances and the new date will be released at a later point. We do apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
I would like to thank all those families, who donated so generously a range of items that were taken to the food bank to mark the occasion of Harvest. Our donations were received with gratitude.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
