Message from the Headteacher
Christmas has well and truly arrived at Vicar’s Green! This week, our school has been brimming with festive cheer, thanks to the wonderful performances by our youngest stars.
Our Dragonflies and Butterflies classes put on their final nativity performances for their parents, show-casing incredible confidence in singing, acting, and delivering their lines. It was heart-warming to see their hard work shine through!
Meanwhile, our youngest children in nursery filled their classroom with Christmas spirit through festive songs and actions. This was their first performance to an audience of parents, and they did brilliantly. Well done to all!
A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring these performances to life, and to our parents for your support with lines, songs, and costumes.
Looking ahead, our Year 2 children are preparing for their performances to the whole school throughout next week, with their final show set for Friday. We can’t wait to see them shine on stage!
Last week, we held our Spectacular Science Afternoon, where children across the school explored, investigated, and experimented with great enthusiasm. We were delighted to welcome members of our governing body, who visited classrooms to observe this exciting event.
Our governors were incredibly impressed with the children's engagement and their confident use of scientific language and terminology. They noted the clear progression of learning and tasks from Early Years through to Year 6, highlighting how vital STEM education is for our students’ futures.
As we approach the Christmas holidays, we are excited for the upcoming festive events, including our Winter Fair next Wednesday after school, followed by class parties and a pantomime during the final week of term.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
