Message from the Headteacher
Next week, we celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week, with this year’s theme: “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.” This is a great chance to help children recognise and express emotions, develop self-awareness, and build resilience. Children need to feel comfortable talking about their emotions. We will encourage daily check-ins, discussions, and activities to help them express their feelings and gain confidence in opening up.
Listening is one of the best ways to support children. Active listening means giving full attention, acknowledging feelings, and responding thoughtfully, ensuring they feel heard and valued. Through group activities, children will reflect on what they learn about themselves. This builds connections, encourages self-awareness, and helps them explore strengths and areas for growth.
Creativity helps children express emotions, whether through art, music, writing, or digital skills. We encourage creative activities that allow them to share their thoughts and feelings. Safe spaces help children process emotions, especially after challenges. We will offer opportunities for discussions and positive coping strategies.
Setting goals helps children focus on aspirations and believe in their potential. By working towards personal goals, they build confidence and resilience. We look forward to this important week, supporting children’s well-being and growth.
Finally, I would just like to share that Ms Mahon and Mrs Durbacz have now officially started their maternity leave. We wish them all the best with their new arrivals. The children in Swift and Kestrel class have settled well with their new teachers.
Warm regards Iman Basu Roy
